At our April meeting Mary Hyland gave us an excellent talk on Genealogy. She is professionally engaged in the subject and had many amusing and interesting stories to tell. She found out that two of our members had great grand children and could remember their own great grandmothers, which is a seven generation span. Most of us manage just five generations.
Each member had taken an old family photograph. The common theme was the formality of the subjects in their best clothes and stiffly poised whereas today we what could be called sloppily informal in photographs showing a change in culture and technique.
Next month there is no official speaker as it is the Resolution Meeting when we will be discussing the need to improve food labelling. It will be followed by a bring and share buffet with live music from Ted Dowse.
