BEER WI - DEVON
Three new members and County Advisor Mary Andrews were welcomed at the May Meeting, which was focussed on the 2010 Resolutions. We had a discussion about the pros and cons about whether or not to improve the labelling of meat products so that their country/ies of origen is clear. We voted in favour of the Resolution. This was followed by a bring and share buffet, time to discuss amongst ourselves plans for opportunities at County and village level. One of the latter is our monthly lunch-a great favourite and involved choosing from the delicious menu from Steamers Restaurant. We circulate around the choice eateries in Beer. Last month we enjoyed the exotic food at the Spice Merchant. After food and discussion of food we settled to the folk music of Ted Dowse. This was a first as normally the Resolution discussion is the focus of the May meeting. It was good to have excellent entertainment to add value to what can be a rather dry meeting. Thank you Ted.
Skittles has finished for the summer but we have so many events to plan and look forward to so that although we will miss our matches it will release a bit of much needed time. This month we have the Group Meeting, with a competition that requires a team, we continue to play cards and keep going at our creative writing.
